Julie Chiu, RN, MS, CHC, IC® is passionate in helping people free themselves from unhealthy patterns/habits. Her goal is to coach her clients to a more optimal lifestyle. Her specialty is weight management and helping people who struggle with over or under eating create a healthier relationship with food, mind and body.
She is the founder and director of Mindful Eating Lifestyles Limited and is Hong Kong’s first and currently only medically trained Certified Health Coach, Intrinsic Coach®, licensed Am I Hungry?® weight management facilitator, and Intuitive Eating Pro® Counselor. Julie is also a speaker, blogger, and registered nurse (US 12+ yrs). She has personally struggled with yo-yo dieting, emotional overeating, poor body image and lack of motivation to exercise and was able to break free from unhealthy eating habits and now helps her clients do the same.
Julie learned to gradually overcome these obstacles through mindful eating (AKA intuitive eating) and by living life to the fullest. In addition, living in the present moment and having a grateful attitude has brought her true happiness in Hong Kong’s concrete jungle.
She understands change is not easy. Julie has dedicated her life to helping men, women, adolescents and children become aware of their ambivalence to change and motivating them in achieving their health and wellness goals.
Julie is a Certified Health Coach with the National Society of Health Coaches, Intrinsic Coach® with Totally Coached, and a Licensed Weight Management Facilitator with Am I Hungry?® P.L.L.C.
She is also a Registered Nurse since 1998 with a board certification in pediatric critical care and informatics (health care information technology).
Julie obtained her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from State University of New York at Binghamton (New York, USA) and a master’s degree, with honors, in informatics from Columbia University School of Nursing (New York, USA).
Julie has a love of learning and helping people. Topics she’s currently into: Motivational Interviewing, Health Coaching, Intuitive/Mindful Eating, Cognitive Eating Behavior, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindful Meditation, and Law of Attraction. She enjoys swimming, funky dancing, reading, food, wine, traveling, photography, running, mahjong and spending quality time with the people she loves, especially her husband.
Julie is currently located in Hong Kong and provides private health coaching sessions internationally and group workshops locally.
